54' IOR - Exceptional Racing-Cruiser Yacht

Built in lightweight alloy by the Pouvreau shipyards in 1980, this 54' IOR (International Offshore Rule) stands as a remarkable vessel designed by Gilles Vaton for Alain Gabbay. It emerged as the leader of its generation, nearly clinching victory in the 1981/82 Whitbread Race, securing a 2nd place overall just behind the maxi Flyer II. Subsequent achievements include a 3rd place in the SORC, victory in the EDHEC 1983, triumph in the Transat Québec-Lorient in the monohull category, and winning the 1986 Nioulargue under IOR rating. It also secured 2nd place in the Transat La Rochelle-Québec. After being converted into a long-distance cruiser, it continues to participate in regattas to this day.

Now, it stands as a magnificent racing-cruiser, meticulously maintained, and ready for a family world tour. It features a new rigging from 2023, including a mainsail and asymmetrical spinnaker with a sock from 2023, genoa, and staysail from 2023.
